A custom piece must be reviewed for function as well as appearance. Dimensions, material, thickness, finish, fastening, laps, drainage direction, movement and adjacent materials affect the final detail. Website diagrams are conceptual only — final fabricated dimensions come from approved drawings, field measurements or both, as stated in the proposal.

- Review the detail, exposure and adjacent systems
- Confirm whether dimensions come from drawings or field measurement
- Select material, finish, thickness and fabrication method
- Prepare a sketch, sample or shop detail where included
- Cut and form the metal components
- Prepare the installation area included in the scope
- Install pieces in the required sequence with coordinated laps, fastening and sealant where specified
- Review appearance, drainage intent and cleanup
